Medical Appointments Transportation
Non-emergency transportation to medical appointments. Assessment and approval for service must be completed prior to first appointment. Must have no other means of getting to appointments. Limited to 2 appointments per month. Appointments must be scheduled ahead of time. No same or next day transportation available. Medicaid or insurance paid transportation is NOT provided. This is a small transportation program with limited availability.

Senior Center
Lexington County Recreation & Aging Commission's Council on Aging includes seven stand-alone senior centers, which are open Monday through Friday, and offer a noon meal, education, recreation activities, health promotion, socialization, volunteer opportunities, support services, and fitness programs for independent, active seniors aged 60 and older. Each center also has transportation available to and from the centers for eligible individuals.

Description of Organization
Lexington County Recreation & Aging Commission's Aging Program is a special purpose district whose mission is to improve the quality of life of older adults throughout Lexington County through creative, meaningful, life enriching experiences. This is done through the provision of program services, facilities, and education. Some programs and services may depend on available funds, an individual's severity of need, and the geographic location of the individual.
