Caregiver Support
The ARK of SC provides comprehensive support services to families living with dementia such as respite, resource referrals, education, caregiver consultation and support groups. The ARK of SC currently facilitates four support groups in Dorchester County, three in-person support groups and one virtual support group. The ARK of SC facilitates educational classes called Powerful Tools for Caregivers through the NOAH (Neighborhood Outreach Alzheimer's Help) Project. These classes teach caregivers the importance of caring for themselves while also caring for a loved one with a chronic illness. Respite Care - Out-of-Home
The ARK of SC provides a social respite program. These respite programs keep loved ones with memory issues connected to their community through fellowship and fun activities that enhances their independence and self-esteem, while also giving the caregiver a break. Volunteers assist with respite care, often giving one-on-one attention to members.
Hours of Operation
Tuesday-Thursday from 10:00AM-1:45PM in Summerville. Wednesdays 10:00AM-1:45PM in Harleyville.

Memory Evaluation
The ARK of SC facilitates memory screenings as a partner of the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. This free screening is typically 15-20 minutes long and available for individuals age 55 and older concerned about their memory and interested in research. If you are interested in a memory screening, please contact The ARK of SC at 843-471-1360.
The Navigation Club is an Early Memory Loss group that meets once a week on Fridays at the Summerville location. The Navigation Club’s mission is to support brain health through engaging members in five important content areas: Socialization, Mental Stimulation, Physical Activity, Spirituality and Nutrition.
