Sumter Senior Services is a non-profit organization designated as the focal point for aging services in Sumter County for programs, services, information and advocacy for older adults. The mission is to provide opportunities for physical, mental, and emotional wellness which support independence and enrich the quality of life for older adults.

Provide services to support individuals in their homes, promote independence, and enhance their overall quality of life. Assigned Direct Care Workers provide personal, social, and domestic care and supervision at a level appropriate to the individual client.   Our services are non-medical which include but are not limited to the following: personal care, companionship, diabetic, dementia, and Alzheimer’s care, assistance with daily living activities, and transportation for the elderly, chronically ill, physically, or mentally challenged individuals, and those recently discharged from the hospital.

We offer a wide variety of activities to enhance the quality of life for our participants and their families. We serve both the senior population and young adults with developmental disabilities, individualizing programs to assist them to continue to grow, learn and contribute to the society. A hot lunch is served daily. 

We also offer free trial day passes at our day centers for those who would like to try it out, and accept many payer sources, such as Medicaid and VA. 

Based on the PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) model of care, our program offers frail seniors services and support needed to remain at home and in their own communities.

Elite Home Care and Day Centers offer professional, DHEC certified care throughout South Carolina. 

Whether it is Medicaid, VA medical benefit, private pay, waiver or a voucher, we are often able to provide the care you require for little or no money out of pocket.

Project VISION (Volunteers In Service In Our Neighborhoods) is the home repair initiative for the United Way of Aiken County, Inc. Home repairs are provided for low-income, disabled seniors, age 62 year or older. Senior(s) must own their home and currently occupy it.

Concierge and personal assistant services to seniors. Provide downsizing, decluttering and movement preparation services.

The South Carolina Developmental Disabilities Council is a federally funded program that provides leadership in planning, funding, and implementing initiatives that lead to improved quality of life for people with developmental disabilities and their families through advocacy, capacity building, and systemic change.

VR prepares and assists eligible South Carolinians with disabilities to achieve and maintain competitive employment.

Many seniors consider their companion animals their family. They may not be able to afford to vaccinate or obtain basic annual care that is necessary in South Carolina's tropic‐like weather. Ideally, regular vaccinations and check‐ups will be offered through the program. Furthermore, transportation  throughout the state is a barrier, as most of the state is rural and many senior citizens needing  veterinarian services are homebound and unable to drive.  Through the generosity of South Carolina veterinarians, SCVets Care has stepped up to provide vaccinations, spay and neuter services,  diagnostic services and much more to senior citizen pets. 

We are unable to supply food. We do require an estimate of services needed which can be emailed to us at info@scav.org. 

If you are a senior citizen, disabled, or a caregiver of a senior or disabled adult, and their pet is in need of veterinary care, please reach out to us to help with your pets health needs. 

Always Best Care of Rock Hill offers a free assisted and independent living placement service. We also offer non-medical in-home care.

The South Carolina Assistive Technology Program (SCATP) is a federally funded program concerned with getting technology into the hands of people with disabilities so that they might live, work, learn and be a more independent part of the community. Heart Of A Queen Homecare Services is an in-home care service provider that services the upstate. Our staff is available 24 hours and 7 days a week to assist with and/or provide personal care services for you and/or your loved ones. HopeHealth Greeleyville is a community-based family practice that offers accessible and affordable primary care services in Greeleyville, SC. Services include primary care for adults as well as pediatric services. Other services range from routine visits for immunizations to pap smears and referrals from the Best Chance Network program.
